David Alaba complains of not being given ample time to make a decision on his Bayern future after the club withdrew their contract offer.

David Alaba has long been a subject of intense transfer speculations with the defender’s future at Bayern Munich up in the air.

Despite having entered the final year of his contract at Allianz Arena, the Austria international is yet to commit to a new deal.

It has been reported that a dispute is ongoing regarding the terms of renewal between the player and the club, with the former demanding a five-year deal worth a mouthwatering €125 million.

A shocking development in the situation was witnessed on Sunday when Bayern president Herbert Hainer declared that the club had withdrawn their renewal offer after no agreement could be reached until the October 31 deadline.

Asked to comment on this matter, Alaba suggested he himself heard about the retraction through the media.

“I didn’t know how Bayern would react. After the last talks I told Bayern I don’t have time,” Alaba told reporters ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League match with RB Salzburg, via Goal.

“Seven days are not enough for me to decide, I told Bayern that immediately.

“I’ve mentioned many times before that I would prefer to keep internal discussions internal.”

The versatile defender also went on to claim that the reports of his demands are “false” while expressing his displeasure with his employers for not making it clear.

Alaba added: “In the last couple of months I was disappointed and a little hurt these numbers were never corrected by the club, these numbers were always passed on to the press.

“So of course, I was frustrated that Bayern never said anything about the numbers in the media but there you go, what can you do.”
