The Portuguese superstar reportedly had a feud with Garcia at Al Nassr earlier this week.
Al Nassr have announced their decision to sack Rudi Garcia as their manager amid reports of his apparent rift with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Garcia was under pressure to deliver improved results after the club completed a blockbuster deal to sign Ronaldo. However, Al Nassr haven’t been able to edge out Al Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League, slipping three points behind them on the table.
An underwhelming 0-0 draw against Al Feiha on Sunday has convinced the club to part ways with Garcia.
“Al-Nassr can announce that Head Coach Rudi Garcia has left the Club by mutual agreement,” an official statement reads.
“The board and everyone at Al Nassr would like to thank Rudi and his staff for their dedicated work during the past 8 months.”
Earlier this week, reports emerged of Garcia’s broken relationship with Ronaldo. Following the draw against Al Feiha, Ronaldo stormed off the pitch, intensifying rumours about his dissatisfaction with Garcia’s tactics.
Speaking after the game, the French manager publicly criticized his players.
“I don’t feel satisfied with the players’ performance. I asked them to play at the same level as the last game [a 5-0 win over Al-Adalah], but this didn’t happen,” Garcia said on Tuesday.
The club have confirmed Dinko Jelicic as their new first-team coach after Garcia’s departure.
