The Portuguese superstar made a solid start to his career at the Saudi club.

Al Nassr defeated Ettifaq 1-0 in their Saudi Pro League game on Sunday. Cristiano Ronaldo made his debut for Al Nassr, wearing the team’s captain armband.

Al Nassr started off as the better side while Ettifaq sat deep inside their own half. The host tried to find Ronaldo in front of the goal a few times, but it was Talisca who scored the opener for Al Nassr.

A searching cross into the box got past Ronaldo’s head before Talisca turned it into Al Nassr’s match-winner with a precise header.

The partnership between Talisca and Ronaldo continued throughout the second period. But the hosts struggled to feed the attacking pair with more serious chances.

CR7 looked fired up as he made constant runs behind Ettifaq’s backline. But Al Nassr were reluctant to risk their crucial victory for another goal.

Ronaldo came closest to scoring during the extra time. But his powerful shot went over the bar to keep the final scoreline 1-0 for Al Nassr.

The hosts move to the top of the Saudi Pro League table, one point above their arch-rivals Al Hilal. Ronaldo and co will now prepare to meet Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Super Cup on Thursday.
