Benzema is slowly starting to find his rhythm at the Saudi Arabian side.
Al Ittihad manager Nuno Espirito Santo has dismissed rumours suggesting a strain in his relationship with Karim Benzema.
Al Ittihad signed Benzema on a staggering €200m-per-season contract earlier this summer. The Ballon d’Or winner ended his glorious Real Madrid spell to join the Saudi Pro League club.
Reports from Saudi Arabian outlets claimed the move wasn’t greenlighted by Nuno, with the Portuguese boss “not wanting” Benzema in his squad.
The former Tottenham boss reacted to the rumor’s in a press conference on Saturday.
“I want to clarify one thing,” Nuno told a press conference. “I read in the press that my relationship with Karim was not good. Those who know me will know, of course, that this is bullshit*t.
“My relationship with all the players is good. We have a strong group relationship and we are happy with all the players. We are happy that Karim is here with us.”
Benzema scored his first goal for Al Ittihad as they defeated Al Riyadh 4-0 on Thursday. The Balon d’Or winner also provided a spectacular assist for his side’s fourth goal of the night.
Nuno added: “He is happy, as you can see on the pitch. He is enjoying playing for Al-Ittihad. I understand where he comes from. But we are a group strong, we are a very strong group.”
