An easy win over the Egyptian giants puts Real Madrid on the verge of claiming their first trophy of the seasona.

Real Madrid defeated Al Ahly 4-1 in their Club World Cup game on Wednesday. A fantastic second-half display secured the Champions League winners’ spot in the tournament’s final.

A dominant display!

Real Madrid started attacking their opponents as soon as the game started.

After the Blancos’ failed push to score an early goal, Al Ahly found their feet in the game. The African giants found a few opportunities to score the opener but failed to convert them.

Vinicius Junior then put Real Madrid ahead by converting a one-on-one in the 42nd minute.

The Blancos doubled their lead only a minute after the break. A blocked shot from Rodrygo found Federico Valverde, who calmly turned the rebound into his side’s second goal of the night.

Al Ahly went all-in with their attacks after conceding the second goal. Their efforts paid off when they came into the game through Ali Maaloul’s penalty.

The Egyptian giants found a few more chances to score the equalizer. But Real Madrid managed to keep their dominance over the possession for the most part.

Two late goals from Rodrygo and Sergio Arribas then put the icing on the cake for the Blancos. Both players scored during the extra time, sending Real Madrid to the Club World Cup’s final, where they meet Al Hilal on Saturday.
