A compatriot of the Barca living legend cannot believe how he doesn’t get carried away despite being widely considered as greatest ever.

There can never be a completely convincing answer to who is the best footballer of all time or even who is the best at present; there can only be debates.

But if there’s one player who would always be mentioned and would hold a great weight in such debates is Lionel Messi.

The Barcelona living legend has won it all multiple times in his 17-year-long lustrous senior club career so far. Individual records and honors are also aplenty for the player, who has won a record six Ballon d’Or awards.

The 33-year-old has reached an age considered the twilight years for footballers but has shown little signs of slowing down, evident from his tally of six goals and four assists in 11 games so far this season.

As impressive as his determination to keep putting in world-class performances beyond the normal, there will come a time when Messi will have to give in and hang up his boots.

That time is not very far away, and his Argentina teammate Nicolas Tagliafico intends to enjoy it for as long as it lasts.

“When you see him play you are shocked,” Tagliafico told Ajax’s official media of Messi, via Marca. “Then you meet him in person and say, ‘How can he be so normal with how great he is?’

“It’s something I have to enjoy because he’s also coming towards the end of his career.”
