Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag has dismissed reports claiming he could consider taking the Netherlands job role.
Erik ten Hag has ruled out switching his club role for allegiance to his national side.
The Ajax boss has created a reputation for himself since he joined the Dutch giants in 2017.
Under Ten Hag, Ajax are well known as a high-energy attacking unit full of pace all over. Last season, they came inches close to reaching the Champions League final.
It appears the 50-year-old still has more to achieve with De Godenzonen.
Ronald Koeman left his role as national team boss this week and took the Barcelona head coach job. With the Netherlands job now vacant, many tipped Ten Hag to step in and take the job.
The Ajax gaffer was quizzed on it all and ruled out the chances of that happening soon.
Ten Hag told Dutch outlet NOS: “It is a very interesting job, but I am affiliated with Ajax and I am happy here. It’s out of the question for this season.”
“Next season is next season, but I’m happy here and committed to Ajax, so it’s fine.”
If not now, would he consider the job in the future?
“I will have to think about that, but it is an interesting job. We are heading towards the season with Ajax.” Ten Hag continued.
“That gives me energy and jitters, so that is the focus.”
