Ajax crushed Heerenveen to claim back-to-back victories in Eredivisie.

Ajax defeated Heerenveen 4-1 in their Eredivisie match on Sunday. A dominant display from John van ‘t Schip’s men was enough to ensure their victory at Johan Cruijff Arena.

What happened?

Ajax’s brilliant start to the game led to their first goal in the 25th minute. Steven Bergwijn converted Steven Berghuis’ fantastic through ball with a precise finish to make it 1-0 for the hosts.

Ajax doubled their lead in the 42nd minute through Brian Brobbey but the visitors returned to the game when they made it 2-1 only four minutes later.

Ajax dominated the match after the break as Heerenveen failed to mount a comeback. However, they had to wait until the 84th minute to score their next two goals. Chuba Akpom made it 3-1 for Ajax before completing his brilliant display with another goal in the extra time.

The victory sends Ajax to the 11th spot on the league table as they hope to salvage their season in the coming weeks.
