Sadio Mane dropped a positive message for all Senegal supporters following a head injury during his AFCON fixture on Tuesday.

Sadio Mane sustained an unpleasant head injury during Senegal’s win over Cape Verde at AFCON Round of 16 game on Tuesday.

The Liverpool star met a dreadful situation just before the hour mark while he was chasing for a ball at Stade Omnisports de Bafoussam. The end product was a collision between the 29-year-old and the opposing goalkeeper.

Due to a head clash, Mane found himself lying on the ground for a while. However, after an instant medical checkup, he was allowed to continue playing.

Even though Mane scored the opening goal, it was understood that he should have been substituted for concussion protocols.

Nevertheless, he was taken off the field in the 70th minute. Later, the attacker was rushed to the hospital for further tests on concussion.

While Senegal fans were celebrating a 2-0 victory over Cape Verde, they were also worried about their superstar. But, Mane posted on his Instagram story on Tuesday evening with a message concerning his health.

He said: “Thank god everything is fine. Thank you all for the messages.”

We’ll have to wait and see whether Mane will be included for Senegal’s next game. They will meet either Mali or Equatorial Guinea in the quarter-finals of the competition.
