George Weah’s son expresses his desire to play for the Rossoneri as he mentions ‘family history’.

Following his £9million move from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019, Timothy Weah has established himself as a regular starter at Lille. The player helped Les Dogues win the Ligue 1 last year as they beat PSG in a tight title race.

However, similar to his legendary father, Weah has dreams of playing for Milan. Timothy is the son of George Weah, who is the only African star to have ever won the Ballon d’Or. The Liberia great claimed the prestigious award while playing at San Siro, with Timothy planning to go down the same road.

“Of course, I am focused on Lille. But, it has always been my ambition to one day play in a great league like Serie A and, in particular, for a big club like Milan, which is part of my family history after all,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“[My dad] never talks about it openly. But when I was a child, there was the idea of playing for the Rossoneri’s youth teams. Things went differently, but maybe I’ll arrive at Milan anyway.

“Things go so fast in football, and you never know.”

Despite keeping his place in Lille’s lineup, Weah has suffered a dip in form this season. In his 19 appearances for the Ligue 1 champions this season, the United States international has failed to score.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud both approaching the final years of their careers, Milan might start looking for a new forward. However, Weah would certainly need to improve his form to attract the Italian giants’ attention in the next transfer windows.
