The Rossoneri are on the verge of adding a new midfielder to their ranks.
AC Milan are reportedly close to signing Yunus Musah from Valencia.
Musah left Arsenal’s academy to join Valencia in 2019. A year later, he broke into the La Liga side’s senior team, establishing himself as a regular starter.
Last season, the midfielder made 37 appearances for Valencia, attracting interest from a number of elite European sides. He is now set to continue his career in Serie A.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Musah will sign a five-year deal at Milan. The Italian giants have reportedly agreed to pay a “€20m package” to Valencia.
Where will Musah play for Milan?
Musah is a versatile player who can take on different roles in midfield. The American star will most likely serve as a backup for Tijjani Reijnders, who joined the club from AZ Alkmaar earlier this summer.
The 20-year-old can either form a duo alongside Ruben Loftus-Cheek in Stefano Pioli’s favourite 4-2-3-1 system or play as a box-to-box midfielder if they switch to a 4-3-3 format.
When will Musah make his Milan debut?
Musah will certainly miss Milan’s next friendly match against Barcelona on Wednesday. But the USMNT star will be available when Rossoneri meet Bologna on August 21.
