The Milan striker praises the Swede for his exceptional qualities as a forward.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic does not show any signs of slowing down as he scores regularly for Milan at the age of 40. The Swedish star has made a significant impact since returning to San Siro in January 2020.

The Italian giants signed Olivier Giroud to have an extra striker upfront. However, despite a few injury setbacks, Zlatan has maintained his consistency throughout the current season.

In his 15 appearances for the Rossoneri this season, the Sweden international has scored eight goals. He is now in an elite club of players with over 300 career goals across European top five leagues alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Speaking in an interview with Oh My Goal YouTube channel, Giroud spoke about his experience of playing with Zlatan.

He said: “Playing with him is something I see as a challenge, something that pushes me every day,

“It’s an opportunity to have him as my partner, to learn something more.

“He’s an example for many strikers and when I was young I loved him, both on the pitch and for his strong character, and for the fact that he’s demanding every day.

“It’s a healthy competition between us.”

Milan sit third in Serie A as they keep on chasing Inter and Napoli on top of the table. Zlatan and co will meet the Nerazzurri in a crucial Milan derby next Saturday.
