The Serie A leaders have suffered another setback ahead of a potentially decisive match against Juventus.

Ante Rebic and Rade Krunic have tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of AC Milan’s showdown with reigning Serie A champions Juventus on Wednesday.

The pair returned positive results from the club’s latest round of swab tests, meaning they must observe a period of self-isolation. Therefore, Milan won’t be able to call on either player for the foreseeable future.

“The asymptomatic players remained in isolation at home, where a second control swab was taken today. The health authorities were promptly informed,” read a club statement.

“All team members were subjected to a further test today with negative results.”

Stefano Pioli’s side are now without seven players for the Juventus match. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ismael Bennacer, Alexis Saelemaekers, and Matteo Gabbia are all injured. Sandro Tonali, on the other hand, is suspended.

Juventus have also lost Juan Cuadrado and Alex Sandro to positive COVID-19 tests this week.
