During the Premier League celebration, Pep Guardiola couldn’t help getting tearful while talking about Sergio Aguero and his farewell.
Sergio Aguero is definitely one of the players who helped Pep Guardiola the most when he arrived in England. If it wasn’t for him, Manchester City probably wouldn’t have won some of the titles the Citizens lifted at the start of Pep’s adventure. Every single year, you could see ‘Kun’ at the top of the goal-scoring table fighting against other legendary players such as Harry Kane, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, or Jamie Vardy.
Guardiola will never forget everything Sergio did not only for him but for the club as well. Especially this season, when the star wasn’t playing at the top of his game and suffered injuries. Those are the years in which saying goodbye to such a special player becomes even more difficult. Pep knew how complicated this day would be for ‘Kun’, but he didn’t imagine he would tear up this much on the Premier League celebrations.
Guardiola can’t hold his tears for Sergio.
As everybody was celebrating the new achievement, it was Pep Guardiola’s turn to speak with the Sky Sports reporter. As he started hearing the question, he quickly realized he had to talk about Sergio Aguero’s farewell. Immediately, we all saw him losing his poise and he started tearing up. So many great years will never be forgotten and Pep sounded like a proud father when he spoke about Sergio.
This is what he told the Sky Sports microphone right after the match: “We love him so much. He’s a special person for all of us. He’s so nice, so nice. He helped me a lot. We cannot replace him, we cannot. There are many players that this club have had – David Silva helped this club to be what it is. He showed his quality in 20 minutes.”
