Spotify’s billionaire founder has reportedly partnered with three Arsenal legends in a bid to buy the club from Stan Kroenke.

Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, and Patrick Vieira have reportedly joined Daniel Ek to make a takeover offer to Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke.

Frustrations with the club’s owner are at an all-time high. Kroenke has never been a fan favorite throughout his tenure. His lack of interest, engagement, and absence has always been noted.

But signing Arsenal up for the aborted European Super League was the last straw. While the Gunners pulled out, it’s too little too late as far as many fans and former players are concerned.

Despite Kroenke’s son, Josh, insisting the American billionaire has no plans to sell up, a £2 billion offer could convince him otherwise.

According to The Telegraph, Daniel Ek intends to test Kroenke’s resolve. The Spotify founder is working alongside Henry, Bergkamp, and Vieira in an attempt to take over at the Emirates.

All three Gunners legends could return to the club as part of the brand new set-up if Ek is successful.

Daniel Ek’s bid receives a huge boost

Recruiting arguably three of the most famous members of Arsenal’s 2003/04 Invincible squad is a big win for Ek.

Henry, Bergkamp, and Vieira each enjoyed stellar careers in north London. They’re widely regarded as some of the club’s greatest players in history. Their influence, especially Henry’s, amongst the fans remains strong to this day.

The trio’s involvement in a potential takeover bid with Ek will put pressure on Kroenke to consider a sale.

The American billionaire is already walking on thin ice, and the Arsenal supporters made their feelings crystal clear of his ownership in a heated protest outside the Emirates on Friday.

Ek, who claims to be a lifelong Gunners supporter, has a genuine interest in taking control and is preparing a formal offer.

The Swedish billionaire, who has a reported net worth of $4.7 billion (£3.4bn), announced his interest in a social media message last week.

While Henry, who scored a club-record 228 goals during his Arsenal career, recently opened up on his feelings about the recent events.
