The summer transfer window is fast approaching, and for some footballers, this period could be a turning point in their careers.

These are players who desperately need a fresh start to revive their form, regain playing time, or simply fulfill their potential. Here are ten players who need saving this summer.

1. Ansu Fati

Once regarded as Barcelona’s future star, Ansu Fati’s career has been marred by injuries and inconsistent form. With new manager Hansi Flick seemingly uninterested in giving him a chance, his time at the club appears to be running out. A move abroad, similar to what worked for Xavi Simons and Dani Olmo, might be the key to reviving his career.

2. Arda Güler

At Fenerbahçe, Arda Güler was one of Europe’s brightest young talents. However, since joining Real Madrid, his progress has stalled. With only seven starts across La Liga and the Champions League this season, he finds himself behind seasoned players like Luka Modrić and Dani Ceballos in the pecking order. A loan move, perhaps back to Fenerbahçe under José Mourinho, could be ideal for his development.

3. Bruno Fernandes

Despite being one of the most talented midfielders in the world, Bruno Fernandes is stuck in a Manchester United rebuild that could take years. At 31, he needs to be playing for a club competing for top trophies every season. A move to Manchester City, Real Madrid, or Bayern Munich could elevate his status and maximize his prime years.

4. Son Heung-min

Son is an elite attacker, yet at 33, he still hasn’t won a single trophy. His loyalty to Tottenham mirrors that of Harry Kane, who only recently secured his first trophy after moving to Bayern Munich. If Son wants silverware, he may need to follow in the footsteps of former Spurs players like Luka Modrić and Kyle Walker, who left and enjoyed great success elsewhere.

5. Iñaki Peña

Barcelona’s 26-year-old goalkeeper started the season well when Marc-André ter Stegen was injured, but with Wojciech Szczęsny potentially extending his stay and Ter Stegen returning, Peña could drop to third choice. A move to Real Betis, Celta Vigo, or even back to Galatasaray could give him the regular minutes he deserves.

6. Caoimhin Kelleher

Liverpool’s backup goalkeeper has proven himself capable whenever Alisson is absent, but with Giorgi Mamardashvili rumored to be arriving, Kelleher might see even fewer opportunities. Manchester United, struggling with errors from André Onana, could benefit from signing the Irish shot-stopper.

7. Rafael Leão

The Portuguese winger was once AC Milan’s main man, but he has now fallen down the pecking order. With Milan struggling and potentially missing out on European football, Leão needs a club that will allow him to showcase his skills at the highest level. Chelsea has been linked with him—could they be the ones to save him?

8. Marcus Rashford

Once a star at Manchester United, Rashford’s career has stagnated. His loan spell at Aston Villa has reminded everyone of his talent, but can Villa afford his wages permanently? If not, he may need a move elsewhere. Barcelona showed interest in January, and he could be a good fit in Hansi Flick’s system.

9. Victor Osimhen

Osimhen’s relationship with Napoli appears to be fractured, and he deserves to be playing for a club that matches his talent. While many top clubs need a striker, his high wages have been a stumbling block for potential suitors like Chelsea. However, a Champions League club should seize the opportunity to sign him this summer.

10. Jack Grealish

Grealish’s time at Manchester City hasn’t gone as planned. With Jeremy Doku and Savinho emerging as Guardiola’s preferred wingers, Grealish’s playing time has dwindled. If he wants regular football, he may need to move on. The question is: which club will give him a fresh start?
