The Premier League was formed way back in 1992 and has grown to become the most exciting and watched football league on the planet. From unrivalled drama to attracting the world’s best players, England’s top-flight is the ultimate entertainment and attracts millions of viewers worldwide every single week.

Of the 20 clubs who compete for supremacy in the Premier League, only six have played in every single campaign: Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham. This article will profile the teams who have proudly never been relegated from the Premier League.

Arsenal

The Gunners have actually played conseuctive seasons in England’s top division since 1920 and are one the most successful clubs in the country. Winning the Premier League title on three occassions, the club was revolutionized by manager Arsene Wenger in the 1990s. Arsenal enjoyed a stunning rivalry with Manchester United at the turn of the century, going toe-to-toe with Sir Alex Ferguson’s side and dazzling with skill and supreme passing ability. The club have not finished lower than 8th since 1995 and will likely remain in the Premier League for a long while yet.

Liverpool

Liverpool have won 19 league titles in their history though only one has come during the Premier League era. However, the Reds are top again this season and if you wish to back them, there are a number of betting platforms and casino sider where you can explore different odds and games when wagering on Jurgen Klopp’s men.

The Merseyside club have always finished in the top eight throughout the Premier League years and though they have rarely finished top in the last three decades, Liverpool have achieved huge success in cup tournaments.

Manchester United

Manchester United enjoyed two decades of dominance upon the formation of the Premier League and lifted title after title under manager Ferguson. The Red Devils reigned supreme though the last decade hasn’t been as kind and the club have had to watch on as rivals City finish first almost every season.

However, despite the club’s recent struggles without their legendary manager, they still regularly qualify for Europe and are never in any danger at all of dropping to the Championship.

Chelsea

Though Chelsea spent some time in the Second Division during the eighties, the Blues have been firm ever-presents in the Premier League era. It was in 2003 when Roman Abramovich bought the west London club that things really changed at Stamford Bridge.

Under the enigmatic Jose Mourinho, Chelsea lifted the top division title for the first time since the 1950s with players like Frank Lampard, John Terry and Didier Drogba seeing them regularly get the better of Arsenal and United.

Everton

Out of the six-ever presents in the Premier League, it is Everton who have come closest to losing that status. On four occasions, most recently in 2022 and 2023, the Blues have beaten the drop in the final week or final day of the season.

It’s a curious case as the Toffees remain one of the most decorated clubs in England and no other team in the land has played more seasons in the top-flight than Everton. However, the club’s downturn coincided with the formation of the Premier League and so the Goodison Park’s outfits record is the weakest over the last 30 years when it comes to the clubs featured here.

Tottenham

For a number of years in the Premier League, Spurs would have to settle for midtable mediocrity. However, in more recent times, mainly thanks to the goals of Harry Kane, Tottenham have finished as high as second and regularly compete in the Champions League.

After moving to a brand new stadium, Spurs will be hoping they can continue the upward trajectory right through the 2020s and beyond. And who knows, a Premier League title could be in their grasp.

Summing Up

Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham have never experienced relegation from the Premier League since its inception in 1992 and remain the biggest clubs in England along with Aston Villa and Manchester City.
