West Ham: Moyes hits back at fans for demanding his exit

The Hammers haven’t won a single game since beating Arsenal on December 28.

David Moyes fired back at frustrated West Ham fans who demanded his departure from the club during a defeat against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Moyes’ side lost 2-0 as they failed to find the back of the net for the third consecutive game. The Hammers have slipped to ninth spot on the Premier League standings, with the former Manchester United boss coming under increasing pressure.

During Saturday’s match at City Ground, travelling supporters held up a “Moyes Out” banner, demanding the manager’s sacking.

The 60-year-old addressed the dissent from fans after the game, saying: “I think it would be hard to say there have been many better times at West Ham.

“Maybe they want something different, but if they’re honest I think they probably have to say it’s been as good a time as they’ve had at the club, winning a trophy and the league positions.

“Maybe they’ve had managers who excite them more, possibly, but the one who’s sitting here wins more.”

Despite leading West Ham to a historic Europa Conference League title last season, Moyes has seemingly lost the support of a large section of the Hammers’ fanbase. However, with the veteran manager’s contract expiring next summer, West Ham are unlikely to rush a decision on his future.
