Palmer scored twice as he made another excellent display for the Blues.
Cole Palmer has explained his celebration after scoring for Chelsea in their 3-2 win over Luton Town on Saturday.
The former Manchester City star opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 12th minute before scoring their third goal in the second half.
Palmer celebrated his goals with a new gesture as he rubbed his arm as if he was feeling cold. Asked about the celebration by TNT Sports after the game, the 21-year-old said: “My boy Morgz did one for Middlesbrough, so I told him I’d do it.”
Palmer was referring to his close friend Morgan Rogers, who has recently used the same celebration after scoring for the Boro. Palmer was teammates with Rogers when the pair played for Manchester City’s academy ranks.
Since leaving City in the summer transfer window, Palmer has established himself as one of Chelsea’s best players under Mauricio Pochettino.
Having made 17 Premier League appearances so far this season, the English star has registered eight goals and four assists.
Speaking after the Luton Town victory, Pochettino said of Palmer’s impact: “It’s obvious he’s an important and decisive player. Scoring goals like this, I am so pleased for him and for the team.”
