The Catalans have struggled for consistency in their attacking line this season.

Barcelona have missed more big chances than any other club in Europe’s top five leagues.

Xavi Hernandez’s side, who registered La Liga’s finest attacking stats last season, haven’t been able to maintain consistency with their goal numbers in the current campaign.

Sitting four points behind Real Madrid and Girona on the league table, Barcelona have scored fewer goals than any club above the fifth spot.

According to Whoscored, Barca have missed a total of 34 big chances, more than any other team in Europe’s top five leagues.

Barca’s attacking performances, especially in crucial matches, have drawn criticism toward Robert Lewandowski as the team’s main striker. The Polish star, who ended the previous campaign with 23 goals from 34 appearances, has scored only seven so far this season.

The likes of Joao Felix and Ferran Torres have improved their goal numbers this season. But that hasn’t been enough to cover for Lewandowski’s dip in form. Among Barca’s last six La Liga opponents, Granada were the only team to concede more than one goal.

The Catalans’ defensive stability has allowed them to maintain their place among the title contenders. But things could quickly change in the second half of the season if Barca’s main forwards don’t provide them with a consistent flow of goals.
