The under-fire Red Devils boss had a clear message to share as he looks to get the club out of its current slump.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag thinks the club is improving under his leadership and has asked for patience.
There has been talk about Ten Hag’s future after the team’s 1-0 loss to Newcastle at the weekend. There are rumors about unrest in the dressing room over the Dutchman’s leadership. The next three home games against Chelsea, Bournemouth, and Bayern Munich are said to be vital for him.
“We are in the right direction and I know we will get where we want to be,” Ten Hag said at a press conference on Tuesday.
“See my record. Everywhere I have been, in every season, I have got my targets. If we stick together and we stick to the plan and the strategy, we will get where we want to be.
“I am patient. I can’t say in this club that we are waiting for two or three years. In this club the aim is, and I think the demands and the standards should be, that you win every game. Go into every game with that aim. I demand my team and players win every game. It doesn’t matter who the opponent is and I will stick to that.”
In his first season, Ten Hag led United to a strong third-place finish in the Premier League. They won the Carabao Cup to end a six-year trophy drought and reached the FA Cup final.
The Dutchman has had a tougher spell in his second campaign though. United have been a bit of a hit-or-miss in the Premier League, having won eight and lost six of their 14 games. This has left the club down in seventh place in the standings, five points outside the top four.
They are also out of the Carabao Cup and sit bottom of Group A in the Champions League.
The Red Devils will face Chelsea on Wednesday evening in their next league fixture at Old Trafford.
