The former Manchester United defender has responded to Jamie Carragher’s analysis of the current Arsenal squad’s potential.
Pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have differing opinions on Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League this year compared to last.
In the previous season, Arsenal led the table for a significant portion but ultimately fell short. While their attacking style received praise, they struggled to secure results towards the end of the season.
This season, the Gunners have displayed a more resilient defense, yet appear less aggressive in attack and not as stylish. Carragher thinks this change is unintentional, arguing the club isn’t as strong in attack anymore. This, he feels, could cost them a chance to win the Premier League title.
Responding to Carragher on X, Neville argued that he sees Arsenal’s change as a pragmatic approach that will improve their title hopes.
In my opinion this team is far more likely to win the league than last years. They weren’t capable of playing below par last year and amassing these points. City were less attractive to watch last year than in previous years but won the treble. I see this with Arsenal this year… https://t.co/te1LU0IK3H

Arsenal will return to action on Wednesday at home to Lens in a Champions League match. The Gunners go into the contest in need of all three points to guarantee a last-16 berth and top spot in Group B.
