The Blues are keen to add another winger to their ranks.
Chelsea are reportedly considering a move for Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia amid interest from several other elite clubs.
Kvaratskhelia was a key player for the Blues during their Scudetto-winning campaign last season. The Georgian winger has maintained his form this season, registering seven goal contributions in Serie A.
According to ESPN, Chelsea have joined Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Newcastle in the transfer race to sign Kvaratskhelia.
The Georgia international fits the Blues’ tendency to sign younger players since Todd Boehly’s takeover last year. However, Napoli are under no pressure to sell their star winger anytime soon.
Kvaratskhelia is under contract at the Serie A club until 2027, with the club already negotiating to renew the 22-year-old’s contract. A possible new deal will provide Kvaratskhelia with higher wages while putting Napoli in an even stronger position regarding a possible agreement with Chelsea.
A report from TEAMtalk has claimed that Kvaratskhelia is priced at around £150m by Napoli. However, the final transfer fee could be even higher due to interest from other clubs.
Earlier this week, Georgia manager Willy Sagnol named Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Real Madrid as possible destinations for the Napoli star.
