Real Madrid claimed a massive home victory in their last match before the international break.
Real Madrid defeated Valencia 5-1 in their La Liga game on Saturday. Despite Jude Bellingham’s absence, the Blancos pulled off a brilliant attacking display at Santiago Bernabeu.
What happened?
Real Madrid found a brilliant start to the game as Dani Carvajal put them ahead in the third minute. The Blancos maintained the pressure on Valencia’s backline throughout the first period, finally scoring their second goal through Vinicius Junior three minutes before half-time.
The Brazilian winger then made it 3-0 with a precise low shot from the edge of the box in the 49th minute. Just a minute later, Rodrygo added his name to the scoresheet after cutting off Giorgi Mamardashvili’s poor pass inside the box.
Real Madrid maintained the pressure on Valencia’s backline after the fourth goal. But they still managed to score another one through Rodrygo in the 84th minute. Hugo Duro pulled one back for Valencia later on, but it was too little and too late to redeem their heavy loss at Santiago Bernabeu.
