Milan claimed their first Champions League victory of the season on home soil.
AC Milan defeated Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 in their Champions League game on Tuesday. The Rossoneri revived their knock-out stage chances with a solid display at San Siro.
What happened?
PSG stunned their opponents with an early opener as Milan Skriniar headed past Mike Maignan only nine minutes into the game.
However, Milan were quick to react as they found the equalizer only three minutes later. Rafael Leao turned Gianluigi Donnarumma’s poor clearance into a brilliant acrobatic finish from close range to make it 1-1.
PSG found a few more opportunities to restore their lead before half-time, but the bar and Maignan prevented them from converting their chances.
The Rossoneri then changed the course of the game at the beginning of the second period. Only five minutes after the break, Olivier Giroud converted Theo Hernandez’s cross with a spectacular header to complete Milan’s comeback.
PSG pushed hard to get back into the game as the second half went on, but they lacked enough attacking edge to escape the defeat.
The victory changes Group F’s dynamics again as Dortmund reaches the top spot, followed by PSG, Milan, and Newcastle.
