The Reds smashed their French rivals to extend their winning run in the Europa League.

Liverpool defeated Toulouse 5-1 in their Europa League match on Thursday. A dominant attacking display from the Reds ensured their victory at Anfield.

What happened?

Liverpool’s early pressure paid off when Diogo Jota made it 1-0 after completing a brilliant solo run deep into Toulouse’s backline. The visitors, however, quickly responded with a goal from Thijs Dallinga, making it 1-1 in the 16th minute.

The goal motivated Liverpool to send more bodies forward as the first half went on. Following an assist from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Wataru Endo restored the hosts’ lead just after the half-hour mark. Only four minutes later, Darwin Nunez made it 3-1 with a powerful finish inside the box.

The Reds maintained their dominance after the break, keeping Toulouse’s backline under pressure. Ryan Gravenberch scored his second Europa League goal for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the 65th minute. But the victory couldn’t be completed without Mohamed Salah finding the back of the net.

The Egyptian superstar put the icing on the cake for Liverpool in the 93rd minute, completing their 5-1 victory at Anfield.
