Thiago Silva gives a coy response to uncertain Chelsea future

The Brazil international will be free to negotiate with non-English clubs in January if he does not sign a new deal at Chelsea.

Thiago Silva remains tight-lipped about his future at Chelsea, refraining from revealing his sentiments at this moment.

Despite initial expectations of a brief stint upon his arrival in 2020, Silva remains an ever-present figure. The 39-year-old defender continues to play a pivotal role under new head coach Mauricio Pochettino, featuring in every minute of Chelsea’s Premier League matches.

Yet, with Silva’s contract to expire next summer, uncertainties about where he’ll be next season are beginning to creep in. Chelsea have not offered a new deal at this stage. The defender himself is also staying coy about what his future holds.

“This is a long-standing relationship, right?” Silva told Esporte Espetacular.

“But I’d rather keep quiet at the moment because it’s been controversial in the recent past.”

Silva emphasized the need to consider family factors, expressing the desire to find happiness as he contemplates concluding his illustrious and victorious career.

The former Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan star has made 125 appearances for the Blues. He has scored five goals and made four assists.
