Messi’s bodyguard has attracted media attention with his constant presence around the Argentine icon.

If you’ve been following Lionel Messi’s journey with Inter Miami, you’ve likely seen a familiar face on and off the pitch: Yassine Chueko, the ex-Navy SEAL turned bodyguard.

Chueko’s role is to protect the world-renowned soccer sensation, and he does so with unwavering dedication.

Handpicked by David Beckham

David Beckham, the owner of Inter Miami, personally selected Yassine Chueko to safeguard his most prized asset after a fan breached Security to meet Messi in June.

This incident highlighted the need for enhanced security measures. Apple and the MLS were quick to realize the value of protecting Messi, given that he single-handedly boosted Apple’s MLS streaming service subscriptions by a staggering 80 times.

Jorge Mas, the co-owner of the Herons, commented on the security enhancements, stating, “Security will obviously be enhanced. Players will be bussed in, going through a tunnel. All of those security protocols are already prepared both for here and away. And it’s not only for our games. It’s going to be an everyday occurrence, and something we witnessed and I thought handled very well when (Messi) was here with Argentina before the World Cup.”

Constant Presence

Yassine Chueko’s commitment to his role as Messi’s bodyguard has attracted interest from the media in recent weeks. During a recent match against LAFC, Chueko sprinted across the pitch to intercept a Messi fanatic at the halfway line, ensuring the superstar’s safety.

This level of dedication extends beyond the pitch, as Chueko has been spotted following Messi down the touchline after a crucial assist in the US Open Cup semi-final against FC Cincinnati.

A Former Navy SEAL and MMA Fighter

Yassine Chueko’s background as a former Navy SEAL and MMA fighter equips him with the skills and mindset required for his job as Messi’s bodyguard.

On his Instagram account, which boasts over 115,000 followers, Chueko frequently shares videos of his boxing and martial arts training routines, showcasing his dedication to physical fitness and readiness.

How much does Messi’s bodyguard earn?

Yassine Chueko’s commitment to protecting Messi comes with a price tag. He is reportedly paid an annual salary of $250,000. This significant investment demonstrates the importance of Messi’s Security not only to Inter Miami but also to his sponsors and the MLS.
