Roberto De Zerbi’s men claimed a fantastic home win against Newcastle.

Brighton defeated Newcastle 3-1 in their Premier League game on Saturday. A brilliant attacking display ensured Brighton’s victory on home soil.

What happened?

Newcastle started the game on the front foot, creating several chances early on. Alexander Isak missed two chances to put the visitors ahead while Brighton pushed to score on counter-attacks.

De Zerbi’s side finally got what they were looking for in the 27th minute. Following a powerful shot from Billy Gilmour, Evan Ferguson rushed forward in time to smash the rebound into the back of the net.

Newcastle’s defence looked too shaky after the break, with Brighton doubling down on their pressure to score the second goal. Ferguson unleashed an unstoppable low shot from 25 yards out to make it 2-0 for the hosts in the 65th minute.

Only five minutes later, the 18-year-old completed his sensational hat-trick with a deflected shot from the edge of the box.

Newcastle managed to pull one back through Callum Wilson in the 92nd minute. But it was already too late for the Magpies to mount a comeback.
