Dwight Yorke can’t wait to get back into coaching, with Wrexham being his favourite destination.

Former Manchester United star Dwight Yorke has expressed his interest in becoming the next Wrexham manager.

Yorke started his managerial career by taking charge at Australian club Macarthur last year. He managed to lead the club to the Australian Cup but left last January.

Discussing his next destination, Yorke told OLBG: “If Wrexham approached me and asked me to manage the team, I’d consider it. I have to make a decision that aligns with my ideas and ambitions.

“If Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney matched my mindset, then it’s a good opportunity for me. There’s a lot of hype around the club and that’s understandable because of what the owners bring to the club.”

Wrexham are currently being coached by Phil Parkinson, who has been working at the club for the past two years.

The manager has come under pressure for his side’s underwhelming start to the new League Two season as well as getting eliminated from EFL Cup‘s second round. However, as of now, there’s no indication that Reynolds and McElhenney are searching for a new manager.

Wrexham will face Tranmere in their next league match on Saturday.
