Recent reports have suggested last season’s Saudi Pro League champions, Al-Ittihad, are weighing up a big-money move for Mo Salah.
Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has said the club has no plans to accept any offers for Mohamed Salah from Saudi Arabia.
In the past week, Al-Ittihad have emerged as a potential suitor for Salah. The Saudi team signed the Egyptian’s former Liverpool teammate Fabinho for a fee worth €46.7 million earlier in the summer.
But Klopp insists no club has made an offer for Salah, let alone Al-Ittihad. He added that even if a bid did arrive, it would be rejected.
“We don’t have an offer,” the Liverpool coach said at a press conference on the player’s future.
“There’s nothing there. If there would be something, the answer would be no.”
Klopp added that Salah is an essential player for Liverpool and will continue to be so.
On August 7, Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas, also denied the possibility of a summer exit. He insisted the forward has no plans to leave Liverpool, having only signed a new three-year contract in the previous year.
Salah will look to continue his promising start to the season on Sunday when Liverpool visit Newcastle United at St. James’ Park in the Premier League.
The former AS Roma star has managed one goal and one assist in two games so far.
