Villa bounced back from their heavy defeat against Newcastle with a brilliant victory.
Aston Villa defeated Everton 4-0 in their Premier League game on Sunday. A dominant home display saw Unai Emery’s men claim their first victory of the new season at Villa Park.
Bailey steals the show!
Villa established their dominance early on, scoring their first goal of the afternoon in the 18th minute. Leon Baily made a quick run down the left flank before providing John McGinn with a precise assist.
Only five minutes later, Douglas Luiz doubled Villa’s lead by converting a penalty. The goal forced Everton to push forward for a goal before half-time, but Villa maintained their defensive integrity.
The hosts then restarted their attacks as soon as the second period started. Bailey completed his brilliant display by making it 3-0 with a fine finish inside the box. The goal ended Everton’s hopes for a comeback.
But the visitors’ sloppy defending enabled Villa to increase their lead in the 75th minute. Only a minute after coming in, Duran turned Ashley Young’s misplaced throw-in into his side’s fourth goal of the night.
