Let’s take a look at the player ratings from the Group B FIFA Women’s World Cup match in Brisbane.
On Monday, Nigeria battled it out on the pitch with Ireland in the Women’s World Cup 2023.
With a chance to secure their spot in the knockout rounds, Nigeria had a lot riding on this game. The Group B leaders were the pre-match favorites, with 2.45 odds on offer for a Super Falcons win at the first whistle. Ireland were already eliminated, but the Girls in Green were determined to close out their campaign with a bang and snag a victory.
They didn’t quite do that, but Ireland still managed to nick their first point in a 0-0 draw. Both teams had chances to win the game, but were wasteful in front of goal. Nigeria only had two of their 11 shots on target, while just one of Ireland’s five attempts on goal was on target.
Still, with Australia beating Canada 4-0, Nigeria did enough to qualify for the last-16 with a second-place finish in Group B on five points.
