The England captain has been the subject of much speculation this summer, with Bayern Munich having launched two bids for his services.
Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to make Harry Kane a lucrative offer to commit his future to the London club.
Kane is entering the final year of his current Tottenham contract. Bayern Munich want him. The German champions have lodged two bids for his services. The second offer is worth an alleged €80 million plus add-ons. They believe Kane is open to joining them, but Spurs are unlikely to be pushed into a sale.
According to The Telegraph, Daniel Levy hopes Kane will sign a new contract. The Tottenham chairman would be prepared to offer him a £400,000-per-week salary. The striker will return for pre-season training on Wednesday and meet new head coach Ange Postecoglou.
“It’s not going to be a conversation where we come out with some kind of understanding,” Postecoglou said in a press conference on Monday.
“I just want to introduce myself. I want to know what he wants to happen to make this football club successful then we’ll go out there on the training ground and make it happen.
On Kane’s future, Postecoglou added: “I haven’t had any assurances and I wouldn’t expect any. With these types of situations, you’re never dealing with certainties. I can only go with what I know right now. Harry is part of the squad and looking forward to being back and part of the players.”
Postecoglou became the new Spurs head coach in June after leaving reigning Scottish Premiership champions Celtic.
