An easy victory at St. Mary’s extends City’s five-game winning streak.

Manchester City defeated Southampton 4-1 in their Premier League game on Saturday. An incredible second-half display from the Citizens keeps them within touching distance of Arsenal.

Haaland with a brace!

City dominated the game right from the start, but it took them more than thirty minutes to create serious chances.

Following a few missed opportunities, the Citizens finally broke the deadlock through Erling Haaland in the 45th minute. Following a precise cross from Kevin De Bruyne, the Norwegian striker flew above Southampton’s defenders before smashing a header into the back of the net.

The goal came at the perfect time, paving the way for City’s dominance after the break.

The Citizens kept the pressure on the Saints’ backline, doubling their lead through Jack Grealish two minutes before the hour-mark.

Grealish then provided an assist for Haaland as he completed his brace ten minutes later. The 22-year-old turned Grealish’s cross into City’s third goal of the night with a stunning bicycle kick.

Sekou Mara pulled one back for Southampton a few minutes later, but City made it 4-1 almost instantly. This time, Julian Alvarez added his name to the scoreline by converting a penalty.

City stay five points behind Arsenal on the table as they prepare to face Bayern Munich in a crunch Champions League battle on Tuesday.
