Let’s take a look at some of the most dominant displays in the history of the French top flight.

French football has a rich history of entertaining matches, and Ligue 1 has seen its fair share of high-scoring affairs over the years. Some of the biggest victories have been recorded by French clubs in their top-flight league, and we’ll take a look at the top five biggest wins in Ligue 1 history.

Bordeaux 10-0 Stade Français (1965)

On September 4, 1965, Bordeaux hosted Stade Français at the Parc Lescure in a Ligue 1 match that would go down in history. Bordeaux’s star forward, Héctor De Bourgoing, was in fine form and scored four goals in the match. Other goals were scored by six different goalscorers, including Roland Guillas and Roland Guillas.

Le Havre 10-0 Sète (1954)

On January 31, 1954, Le Havre welcomed Sète to the Stade Jules Deschaseaux for a Ligue 1 match that saw the home side put in a dominant performance. We were not able to find enough data about the goalscorers of this historic game.

Strasbourg 10-0 Valenciennes (1938)

On April 24, 1938, Strasbourg hosted Valenciennes at the Stade de la Meinau in a Ligue 1 match that saw the home side score at will. Strasbourg’s German star, Oskar Rohr, was in unstoppable form and scored six goals in the match. The other goals came from Frederic Keller, Oscar Heisserer, Lucien Laurent.

Olympique Lillois 10-0 Antibes (1934)

On November 11, 1934, Olympique Lillois took on Antibes in a Ligue 1 match at the Stade Henri-Jooris. The home side put in a commanding performance, with István Lukács and André Laveille both scoring braces.

Sochaux 12-1 Valenciennes (1935)

On August 25, 1935, Sochaux welcomed Valenciennes to the Stade Auguste Bonal in a Ligue 1 match that would go down in history as the biggest victory in Ligue 1 history. The home side put in a dominant display, with André Abegglen scoring five goals and Roger Courtois scoring a hat-trick.
