The Blues are marching toward their first Serie A title in over 30 years.

Pep Guardiola has praised Napoli for their incredible form this season.

Luciano Spalletti’s men have stayed ruthless in Serie A, scoring 60 goals in their 26 matches. Thanks to their wonderful attacking form, the Blues sit 18 points clear at the top of the table.

Napoli have also displayed incredible form in their European games. After qualifying for the knockout stage as Group A leaders, Napoli locked horns with Eintracht Frankfurt in the last-16 round.

A 2-0 victory in Germany has put the Blues in pole position to reach the next round. As Spalletti’s men prepare to take on the Eagles in the second leg, Guardiola believes they can aim higher in UCL.

“Napoli are maybe the best team in Europe this year, in terms of playing style… close to Arsenal,” the Manchester City boss said.

Napoli hope to win the Scudetto for the first time since 1990 with their attractive football. Speaking ahead of the Eintracht game, Spalletti backed his players to become Naples’ “icons” by making history this season.

“We’re on the brink of making history at Napoli,” the Italian boss said.

“In Naples they’re used to great stories, the city is used to great tales & great people.

“Our ambition is to become a great story and huge icons for our city. That’s why we won’t underestimate the challenge that awaits us.”
