Man City continue their pursuit of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table.

Manchester City defeated Crystal Palace 1-0 in their Premier League match on Saturday. A tight affair at Selhurst Park saw the Citizens claim another crucial victory in the title race.

Haaland to rescue!

Man City expectedly took over the possession early on but rarely managed to create serious goalscoring chances.

The Citizens grew more confident as the game went on, registering eight shots. However, Palace’s organized defending prevented the City forwards from converting their opportunities.

Pep Guardiola brought in Julian Alvarez for Phil Foden early on in the second half. The substitution increased the pace of City’s attacking line, challenging Palace’s deep defending approach.

The Citizens increased the pressure on their opponents from both flanks. Their efforts finally paid off when Erling Haaland put them ahead by converting a penalty.

The Norway international scored his first goal in three games to continue his side’s three-game winning streak in the Premier League.

Arsenal sit two points above the Citizens on the table with a game at hand. The Gunners will take on Fulham on Sunday.

Man City, on the other hand, will host RB Leipzig in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday.
