The Reds will bid farewell to one of their experienced forwards in June.

Roberto Firmino has reportedly decided to leave Liverpool as a free agent next summer.

The Brazil international’s current contract will expire in June. However, he has informed the club that he won’t renew his deal at the end of the season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Firmino feels he’s ready to take on a new challenge in the summer.

The Brazilian star follows in the footsteps of Sadio Mane, who left Liverpool last summer. As a former Bundesliga player, Firmino might also continue his career in German football.

Firmino has outscored new signing Darwin Nunez so far this season. But Jurgen Klopp has limited the 31-year-old’s playing time to fully integrate Nunez into his lineup.

Earlier this season, the German boss said he expected Firmino to renew his contract.

A string of brilliant performances intensified speculations about an imminent contract extension. However, the former Hoffenheim star has decided to end his Liverpool career.

Since joining the Reds in 2015, Firmino has made 352 appearances for the Reds, scoring 107 goals and registering 78 assists. He has won the Champions League, the Premier League, the Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the EFL Cup and the FA Cup at Anfield.
