The Costa Rican star has lost his starting place at Parc des Prince to Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Keylor Navas is reportedly “open” to joining Nottingham Forest on a loan move from Paris Saint-Germain.

Navas has mostly played second fiddle to Gianluigi Donnarumma since the Italian’s arrival in 2021. The lack of game time under Christophe Galtier has seemingly convinced Navas to join a new club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest are in negotiations with PSG to sign Navas on loan. The Sky Sports journalist claims the final decision depends on the French side as the former Real Madrid star is keen to join Forest.

Speaking in a press conference on Friday, Galtier said: “We have to understand and listen to Keylor Navas thoughts on his future.

“No decision has been made on our side, yet.”

Forest signed Manchester United’s Dean Henderson on a loan deal before the season. But the goalkeeper is unavailable due to a thigh problem.

Signing 22 players in the summer has helped the Premier League newcomers stay out of the relegation zone so far. Forest hope to continue their consistent defensive performances by adding Navas to their ranks.

A possible stumbling block in Forest’s talks with PSG could be the 36-year-old’s wages.

According to Napoli director Cristiano Giuntoli, the goalkeeper earns around €15m per season at PSG. Forest will most likely ask PSG to cover part of Navas’ salary during his loan spell.
