Villa returned to winning ways to stun Antonio Conte’s men in the Premier League.

Tottenham lost 2-0 against Aston Villa in their Premier League game on Sunday. A brilliant second-half display saw the guests claim a crucial victory in London.

Tottenham stay out of top four!

The Spurs came into the game on the back of their frustrating 2-2 draw against Brentford.

Similar to that game, Tottenham struggled to find their rhythm early on. Both sides found a few goalscoring chances toward the end of the first period but stayed goalless until the halftime whistle.

Villa then stunned the hosts with an early goal in the second half. Following a poor clearance from Hugo Lloris, Emi Buendia put the guests ahead in the 50th minute.

Surprisingly, Tottenham weren’t able to create enough pressure to hold Villa in their own half. The 12th-placed side continued their attacks, finally doubling their lead in the 73rd minute.

An assist from John McGinn found Douglas Luiz, who made it 2-0 from close range. The goal forced Tottenham to go all in with their attacks in the final ten minutes.

However, Villa managed to control their opponents effectively by winning most of the physical battles in midfield.
