As the second half of the Premier League season beckons ever close, Gael Clichy reveals which club he thinks will win the title.
Gael Clichy thinks Arsenal have a ‘great chance’ to win the Premier League and really hopes they can all the way.
The post-World Cup break is over, Premier League action resumes on Boxing Day. Arsenal return with a five-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the standings. However, with another 24 games to go, it’s still far from over between Mikel Arteta’s side and the defending champions.
“City are really strong overall because they’ve been there for so long now,” Clichy, who won the Premier League with Arsenal and City, told talkSPORT.
“It’s been ten years since they’ve been consistent so you can’t just put them out but I think Arsenal have got a great chance. You know the next few weeks are gonna be really important and if there’s a team that can really challenge City this year, it’s them.
“They are doing everything impeccably since the beginning of the season and I really hope they can go all the way because it’s a club that deserves and a manager that deserves to bring success to this team.”
Arsenal return to action on December 26 to face London rivals West Ham, City visit Leeds two days later.
