Real Madrid name their top target to replace Karim Benzema

Erling Haaland is Real Madrid’s top transfer target to succeed Karim Benzema.

Despite Benzema being in talks with the club to extend his contract beyond 2023, Real Madrid are looking to the future. They want a successor for the 34-year-old. And with Haaland smashing home the goals constantly for Manchester City, as well as being just 22, the young Norwegian is their No. 1 priority.

City manager Pep Guardiola, however, has denied Haaland has a release clause in his contract for 2024. [Florian Plettenberg – Sky Sport]

Martinelli wants a new Arsenal deal

Gabriel Martinelli wants to commit his future to Arsenal by signing a new long-term contract with the Premier League leaders.

The 21-year-old forward is reportedly in talks with the club about doubling his current salary of around £50,000 a week. His current contract at the Emirates runs until June 2024. [The Times – subscription required]

Keita to join Barcelona?

Barcelona have set their sights on Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita.
