Liverpool were gutted by Sadio Mane exit, Luis Diaz admits

The Senegalese star ended his six-year stay at Anfield to join Bayern Munich this summer.

Liverpool players were ‘gutted’ when they found out about Sadio Mane’s move to Bayern Munich, according to Luis Diaz.

The Senegalese star left Liverpool after a glorious spell, joining the Bavarians for a new challenge.

Liverpool have felt his absence during their unsatisfying start to the new season. But Diaz says his side will ‘give their all’ to bounce back and regain their best form.

“The team was gutted,” Diaz told TNT Sports Brasil.

“Obviously he’s a player that will be missed in any club. He’s gone to a big club and is working to achieve his goals.”

Asked about his side’s 2-0 win over Rangers on Wednesday, Dias responded: “It’s simple. Win, win and win.

“I think winning gives you much more confidence, but not only that, to play well and leave the pitch with the impression you gave your all. For me, that’s the most important thing.

“But when that doesn’t happen, we have to try and improve in training to try and rectify in the next game. We’ve very happy with the win tonight, now we’ll rest to prepare for what’s coming.”
