Man Utd & Ten Hag make an early Ronaldo transfer decision

After refusing to sell their prized asset in the summer, Man Utd and Ten Hag appear set for a u-turn in January.

The Manchester United board and manager Erik ten Hag will allow Cristiano Ronaldo to leave in January if a suitable offer arrives.

That’s according to The Telegraph. The British newspaper claims Ronaldo is unhappy with his situation, but he remains super professional. His focus is on this winter’s World Cup in Qatar. He hopes a strong showing for Portugal will boost his prospects for the January transfer window.

Despite CR7’s alleged desire for a summer exit, Erik ten Hag wouldn’t play ball. The Red Devils manager wanted to include the 37-year-old striker in his plans for this season, but he has failed to do so.

Ronaldo is no longer a regular starter at Old Trafford, having started in just one of the club’s seven Premier League games. He was an unused substitute in the weekend’s 6-3 derby defeat to Manchester City. This season, most of his game time has come in the Europa League instead.

So, if an appropriate offer comes in January, Ten Hag will reportedly not try to prevent Ronaldo from leaving United.

The Red Devils return to action on Thursday for another Europa League match, this time against Omonia in Cyprus.
