Belgium have played against the Dragons nine times in the last ten years.
Belgium defeated Wales 2-1 in their UEFA Nations League clash on Thursday.
Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring for the hosts in the 11th minute before Michy Batshuayi doubled their lead half an hour later.
Wales pushed to get back into the game as soon as the second period started. Kieffer Moore made it 2-1 in the 50th minute, but the Dragons had to settle for the defeat as they slipped to the fourth spot on the Group A4 table.
Before the game, De Bruyne admitted he’s bored of playing against Wales over and over again on international duty.
“I think half of my international career has been against Wales. I don’t know why. It is a little bit boring,” De Bruyne said.
“I think it is 12 times I have played them, it is always the same teams. We have been playing with the same team for years and years.”
The defeat makes it almost impossible for Wales to avoid relegation from Nations League’s first tier. On the other hand, Belgium keeps chasing Netherlands in the race to qualify for the tournament’s final phase.
Siting three points below the Oranje, De Bruyne and co will meet Netherlands on Sunday.
