Arsenal refused to drop points as they stayed at the top of the league table.

Arsenal defeated Aston Villa 2-1 in their Premier League game on Wednesday. Gabriel Martinelli scored the match-winner for the Gunners’ fifth victory of the season.

Arsenal are UNSTOPPABLE!

Arsenal established their dominance early on and had several chances to find an early breakthrough.

The Gunners finally got what they were looking for when Gabriel Jesus broke the deadlock in the 30th minute.

Xhaka’s cross from the left flank bounced off Ezri Konsa and forced Emiliano Martinez to make a sloppy save. The rebound found Jesus, who smashed the ball home from close range to make it 1-0.

The Gunners had several chances to double their lead before half-time. However, brilliant goalkeeping from Martinez prevented them from securing the victory.

Arsenal remained in charge of the possession in the second period. However, it was Villa who found the equalizer through Douglas Luiz’s direct corner in the 74th minute.

The unexpected goal motivated Arsenal to push for an instant response. The Gunners restored their lead only three minutes after Villa’s goal.

A brilliant piece of build-up play saw Saka send a precise cross for Martinelli. The Brazilian star then nodded the ball behind Martinez, who failed to save the ball from close range.

Arsenal continued attacking to extend their lead but had to settle for the narrow win after a few more missed chances.

What’s next for Arteta’s men?

Arsenal remain at the top of the Premier League table by claiming their fifth consecutive win.

The Gunners must lock horns with Manchester United at Old Trafford next weekend.
