On Monday evening, CR7 flew back to England ahead of an important meeting with the club.

Cristiano Ronaldo has traveled back to England to discuss his Manchester United future.

That’s according to The Athletic. The report claims Ronaldo will hold face-to-face talks with both the club and manager, Erik ten Tag, in the coming days. United will report back to Carrington on Tuesday for a training session, although it’s uncertain if CR7 will join the team.

The Portuguese marksman is yet to work under Ten Hag since the Dutchman’s appointment as manager, having missed the club’s pre-season tour to Thailand and Australia due to family reasons.

Ronaldo has reportedly informed United of his wish to leave this summer if a suitable offer arrives. His main motives for leaving are said to be a desire to compete in the Champions League, to challenge for silverware, and concerns over the lack of ambition shown at Old Trafford since he returned last summer.

United, however, insist the former Real Madrid star is not for sale and see his return as a positive sign.

The Red Devils will play Spanish side Rayo Vallecano this Sunday for their final pre-season friendly. They’ll then host Brighton for their Premier League opener on August 8.
