Will the return of Romelu Lukaku end Martinez’s spell at San Siro?
Lautaro Martinez will not leave Inter this summer despite reports linking him with a Premier League switch, according to his agent.
The Argentine star has attracted interest from several English clubs, including Tottenham and Chelsea. The possible arrivals of Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku will increase the competition in Inter’s attacking line next season.
However, Martinez’s agent says his client has no intention of leaving Inter ahead of the next season.
Asked about Lukaku’s arrival, Alejandro Camano told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “There’s a link between them, that’s evident.
“Wearing this shirt isn’t for everyone. It’s a great thing.
“Lautaro is happy in Milan, he feels like he’s at the centre of things, he’s loved.
“Why would we want to leave? To where? We’re already at the top.”
Martinez was Inter’s top-scorer in Serie A last season, scoring 21 goals for the Nerazzurri. However, his efforts were not enough to prevent Milan from clinching the Scudetto for the first time in 11 years.
Simone Inzaghi’s side hope to reclaim the title by improving their squad this summer. In addition to Dybala and Lukaku, the club are on the verge of signing Kristjan Asllani, who spent a brilliant campaign at Empoli last season.
