Following months of negotiations with Real Madrid and PSG, the World Cup winner has decided on his next move.
Kylian Mbappe has decided to stay at Paris Saint-Germain and sign a new contract.
The 23-year-old was close to joining Real Madrid last summer, but PSG refused to let him go and pushed for a contract extension.
The French giants have now managed to beat the Blancos in the transfer race, persuading their star striker to stay at the club.
According to Sky Sports, Mbappe has made his’ final decision’ and will not leave PSG this summer. The player has reportedly called Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to inform him of his decision.
This will be a massive blow to Real Madrid, who have pursued a deal for Mbappe for more than a year.
The Spanish club also missed out on Erling Haaland, mainly due to their interest in signing the French striker. Haaland ended up joining Manchester City, with PSG tying Mbappe down to a new contract.
According to Goal, PSG are planning to announce Mbappe’s contract renewal ahead of their upcoming Ligue 1 game against Metz.
The announcement will end one of the major stories of the upcoming transfer window. Let’s see if Real Madrid will come up with a plan B after their unsuccessful efforts to sign Mbappe.
